	Coordinating the upliftment of high-risk families and conducting necessary follow-up evaluations.

Duties

The Galle District Secretariat's established service division is providing many unique services to the development process of Galle District.

	Staff capacity building and human resource development.
	Performing specific duties assigned to the District Secretary by various ordinances and acts. (Firearms Ordinance, Explosives Ordinance)
	Management of Government Public and Scheduled Housing.
	Coordination, monitoring and evaluation of tasks assigned by line ministries/departments.
	Activities related to government vehicles belonging to Galle District Secretariat and Divisional Secretariats.
	Identification and coordination of non-governmental organizations in Galle district.
	Management of essential services in Galle district.

Functions of the Division

The Prosperity Development Department operates under the Ministry of Women, Children Affairs and Social Empowerment, and the District Prosperity Division operates in association with the district secretaries throughout the island. Accordingly, various programs are implemented by the Samurdhi Division throughout the district, mainly for the low-income earners, with the aim of empowering them, and for that, treasury allocations and various funds are used.
