Explosives Control Unit

Activities related to the subject of explosives.

In accordance with provisions of the Explosives Ordinance No. 21 of 1956, explosives permits and licenses shall be issued for the issuance of commercial explosives pertaining to this subject.

	Issuing explosive licenses related to mining activities for commercial purposes. E.g. - Metal quarry industry
	Issuing explosive licenses required for non-commercial purposes. E.g.- Removing rock obstructions encountered during land development and well-digging.
	Issuing explosive licenses for non-digging activities.
	For Ayurvedic products. For the production mosquito coils. For the production of ink. For the production of rubber-based products.

Issuing of Explosive Permits

	Permits for manufacturing of explosives (fire crackers).
	Permits for supplier of explosives (fire crackers).
	Permits for supplier of explosives (supply of explosives).
	Permits for manufacturing of explosives.
	Permits for importing of explosives.
	Permits for exporting of explosives

Special activities performed by the explosives unit.

	Participating in test blasting and providing necessary recommendations.
	Taking part in the quality testing of imported explosives.
	Conducting field inspections regarding industries that use explosive materials.
	Providing technical support and conducting workshops for the manufacturing fire crackers and mining industries.
	Safe disposal of expired and unusable explosives under the approval of the Ministry of Defence.
