The "Galle Sadaham Sisila" special Vesak zone commenced on 30^th May 2026 centering the city of Galle to mark the Vesak Poya Day of the Buddhist year 2570 and this special Vesak zone is being held from 30^th May  to 1^st  June, in the city of Galle.

Residents of the city have the opportunity to experience and enjoy various attractions, including the illumination of the city with decorative lights, the exhibition of traditional Vesak lanterns, and various Vesak dansalas (alms-giving stalls).

The Vesak zone is organized through the collaborative efforts of various government and non-government institutions, including the Gallu Pura Bodu Saviya, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the District Secretariat Galle, the Southern Provincial Governor's Office, the Tri-Forces, the Sri Lanka Police, the Divisional Secretariat -Four Gravets Galle, and the Galle Municipal Council. The event was also attended by the renowned businessman, Mr. Dudley Sirisena.
