Galle New District Secretary starts his duty

Mr. K.U. Chandralal commenced his duties as the new District Secretary/Government Agent of the Galle Administrative District this morning (26) at the Galle District Secretariat amidst the blessings of the Maha Sangha.

Born in the Habaraduwa area of the Galle District, he began his primary school education at Lanumodara Vijaya Vidyalaya and later completed his education at Richmond College, Galle and obtained his primary degree from the University of Colombo.
Having completed his postgraduate studies at the International University of Japan, he is an officer with extensive experience in various positions in the Sri Lanka Administrative Service.
Having entered the public service as a clerk in the Yakkalamulla Divisional Secretariat in 2001,
he joined the Sri Lanka Administrative Service in 2003 after passing the Sri Lanka Administrative Service Open Examination.
He then commenced his duties as an Assistant Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration.
Later, he served as the Assistant Divisional Secretary of Ambalangoda and Kadawathasatara and later as the Divisional Secretary of Nagoda.
He has since served as the Director of the Wakwella Development Training Institute, the Provincial Land Commissioner, and the Director General of the Land Reforms Commission.
He has since served as the Deputy Election Commissioner of Galle, and later as the Deputy Chief Secretary of the Southern Province, and Secretary to the Governor.
After serving as the Secretary of the Ministry of Sports and Cultural Affairs of the Southern Province, he commenced his duties as the new District Secretary/Government Agent of the Galle Administrative District from today.
The Chairman of the Galle District Shasanarakshaka Bala Mandala, Venerable Kanumuldeniye Chandavimala Thero, Galle Additional District Secretary Mrs. Ayesha Kariyawasam,Additional District Secretary Miss. Lakshmi Kanthi, Chief Accountant Mrs. Dhammika Subhashini and a group of officials from the District Secretariat and the Southern Provincial Council were present on this occasion.
