Clean Sri Lanka village to village mobile services and special assistance program for the people - in Galle Nagoda
This program has been conducted to resolve unresolved issues and provide services to the people of five Divisional Secretariat divisions in the Galle District, namely Nagoda, Niyagama, Wanduramba, Yakkalamulla, and Welivitiya-Divithura, under the patronage of the Hon. Deputy Minister of Vocational Education, Mr. Nalin Hewage. To achieve the government policy of “A Prosperous Country – A Beautiful Life,” mobile services and special public program for the general public was being conducted, centered the Divisional Secretariat Nagoda, Primary School- Nagoda, Royal National School Nagoda, and the Pradeshiya Sabha Nagoda .
Addressing the inaugural event, the Hon. Deputy Minister, Mr. Nalin Hewage, stated that the primary objective of these mobile services, which are being conducted covering all districts of the island, is to resolve the unresolved issues of the public. He further stated that this program is being implemented in line with the three main pillars of the government such as poverty alleviation, the digital economy, and the Clean Sri Lanka program. On this occasion, while delivering the welcome speech and explaining the objectives of the program, District Secretary Mr. W. A. Dharmasiri stated that, the Clean Sri Lanka aims to provide several services to the people and therefore the people should obtain maximum benefits of this program which is being implemented together with the Presidential Secretariat.
At the inaugural ceremony, activities such as the issuance of land ownership certificates, donation of books to schools, and distribution of certificates for Grade A food production were carried out. In addition to that, progress reports on the waste management programs implemented at the Divisional Secretariat level were also presented during the event.About 300 officers who provide services under various subjects, participated in this program at about 50 service providing centers.Through mobile services, a several services are provided to the public at the level of government institutions. Health clinics and health services also provided in this premises .
Under this, dental clinics, eye clinics, women’s clinics, maternal and child health clinics, non-communicable diseases, and infectious diseases clinics were conducted for the community. Health screenings, food technology activities, and introduction of value-added products are also carried out here. In parrel the mobile service programme, opportunities will be provided for marketing local products through sales stalls within the relevant divisions. In addition, a job fair, a career guidance programme, an environmental conservation-themed drawing competition, awareness programmes on waste management, financial literacy, environmental conservation, road safety, drug prevention, and disaster management will also be conducted.
In addition, in parallel with this program, road cleaning activities, waste management programs, the development of a selected tourist attraction, and the implementation of appropriate programs targeting vulnerable families were carried out throughout the week across five divisions.
The Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat, District Secretariat Galle, Southern Provincial Council, Divisional Secretariats, Central Government Institutions, Local Government Institutions, schools, banks and financial institutions, Sri Lanka Police and security forces, other service-providing institutions, private sector organizations, and non-governmental organizations are the stakeholders of this program.
The objective of conducting this program was to provide prompt and immediate solutions to several basic needs of the community.
The event was attended by Members of Parliament Mr. T. K. Jayasundara and Mr. Thilanka U. Gamage, Galle Mayor Mr. Sunil Gamage, Indian Deputy High Commissioner Ms. C. H. Rathnamala, Southern Province Chief Secretary Mr. Sumith Alahakoon, Clean Sri Lanka District Coordinator Mr. Sanjaya Dhanushka, along with other government officials and a group of people from the Galle District also took part in the event.
