Iftar Ceremony Held at the District Secretariat Galle giving priority to islamic religious activities.

An Iftar ceremony which was organized to mark the holy month of Ramadan for the Muslim devotees of the District Secretariat Galle, was held yesterday (09) evening at the District Secretariat Galle, with the participation of the District Secretary Galle Mr. K.U. Chandralal.

The event, which prioritized Islamic religious observances, was conducted under the leadership of Ash-Sheikh Luthfi Moulavi, who explained the significance of the Ramadan fast.

The Qiraat (Quran recitation) was performed by Safiya Maryam, a student of the Nuraniya Daham School. Following special prayers, the breaking of the fast (Iftar) commenced and there after a special (food items) meal was served.

The recitation of Qasida and the Adhan for breaking the fast were performed by Umeir, a student of the Arusiya Madrasa of the Gintota Muhyiddin Jumma Mosque.

 The occasion was further highlighted by an Islamic song performed by Mayas Ahmed, a student of the Nuraniya Dhamma School.

During the event, the District Secretary engaged in friendly conversation with the Muslim devotees .

The ceremony was attended by Additional District Secretary Galle (Administration) Ms. Ayesha Kariyawasam, Additional District Secretary (Lands and Development) Ms. G.G. Lakshmi Kanthi, along with officials representing all divisions of the District Secretariat Galle.
